DISEMBALM originally formed in early 2000, when guitarist/drummer Ice met up with vocalist Asphyxiate to write brutal death/sludge. One track, titled Baptized in Bile, was recorded and mastered in mid-October of that year, but further progress was halted due to Asphyxiate joining the experimental outfit Babies with Rabies, and Ice joining other projects as well. Two years passed (all side projects now long defunct), and both bandmates decided to reform, this time changing their style drastically. Nine tracks were recorded in March 2002, and on May 10th of the same year, Their self-titled full length was released under Apollyon. The self-titled release featured a redone version of the now sought-after demo track Baptized in Bile, as well as a track featuring guest vocals done by the infamous Lord Blackstorm of Heartless and Faal. Plans for a 7" EP were drastically halted in late 2002 when vocalist Asphyxiate was in a horrific car accident. By that time one new track was done, So an MCD entitled Horrific Unprompted Pestilence was released due to the current circumstances. Currently, Disembalm is again in the studio, preparing for an upcoming full-length to be released on Apollyon. The rest is just history...
